I use a Pixel Flash. NO-Bend Pins.
It is longer that most readers. That helps line up the pins
After going through a bucnh of readers, I have had this one for two years without one problem.
I found it on Amazon.

I use the newer UHS-11 SD cards with my Olympus OM-D EM ! mark 11 and had trouble with the built in reader in my computer. I bought a Transcend TS-RDF9K from B & H for a bit over $17, and it works flawlessly with both UHS 1 and UHS 11 SD cards.

I agree again with Jerryc. I have used the cheap transcend for over a year and never had any problems. Why pay more for a so called named brand when something cheaper does the same job?

I've been using Lexar's HUB and professional card readers for quite some time with great results. Best of luck.

I can say about card readers per se. I have purchases several items from Startech, however. If I want reliable performance then I purchase from Startech

That's exactly the one I have been using. Works great and looks very nice (I have the black one)

Maybe is just me, but I consider Trascend one of the known-brands on the SD card business. At least I have had only good experiences with them and the same performance/reliability I have with SanDisk so far.

USB C is the latest and fastest connection and thunder bolt 4(I think). you will eventually want the fastest available so be sure to get one of these if you are buying a new reader.

In my experience, for SD cards there is no need to spend real money. Our pound shops sell perfectly good ones which work perfectly in the U.K. No reason why it shouldn't be a similar experience in the USA, especially as some are clearly the same product as name brands. As for memory sticks, can't you just plug those straight into your usb?

However, not sure how to recommend it, because is the type of thing that either works or doesn't work (mine works perfectly until now, for around 3 years). And most users will have a single experience with either a single brand and model (or a few of them).
I guess that staying with well-known brands and checking sites with enough reviews to obtain a more realistic average.

Thank you for your honest answer! I shoot photos with 2 Sony cameras, (DSC707 and DSC-HX400v) a card reader that is able to read both memory sticks and memory cards is what brought me to this reader. Once again thank you!...Julian

Are you referring to Sony proprietary Memory Sticks? Many people use the name to describe a flash drive. I know this is pedantic, but it would help to make this obvious.

Have bodies that take XQD as well as SDXC UII mem cards. So, made the decision to buy both mem cards and a mem card reader from Sony (Sony MRW-E90/BC2 XQD USB 3.0 Reader) . The cards are expensive (2 XQDs and 2 SDXC UII 64GB cards were just under $500), but the card reader was not to bad at $69. So, it depends on which kind of cards you are going to read and whether you want guaranteed compatibility. Do recommend staying with a well known brand.

What do you think of the one from Kingston?...Julian

There are a couple of other discussions of card readers here. From comments in those, and from additional research I have done, I believe that there is a strong argument in favor of the Sony reader for XQD. Other formats have been around a longer time, and there are other choices for them, but there have been several reports of problems reading XQD cards even with reputable non-Dony readers.

To everyone that helped me out on this problem I would like to express my gratitude! Tonight while having dinner at one of my favorite resteraunts it hit me, "use the camera itself as the card reader and simply connect the camera(s) via cable. What do you know, it worked, thanks be to God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...Julian
