I would like to rent the new Canon SX40 to try it out. Any suggestions as to where to rent it from?

I shoot Canon also and I'm looking for a bridge camera too. Sorry I don't know where to rent cameras but in your search look at the Panasonic FZ200 scheduled to come out later this month. It shoots RAW, the SX40 does not.

There are lots of places available. Maybe someone will have a specific recommendation or a place to avoid. You can check prices and details on their sites.

www.lensprotogo.com is excellant for bodies and lens. that said I don't know that you will find anyone who will rent that camera. The lowest model lensprotogo rents in Canon is the Canon T4i DSLR which B&H sells for $ 850. the Canon SX40 sells for $ 399 so it will be harder to find anyone that will rent it. Good Luck

I was recently reading about The FZ200 sounds amazing. It zooms to 600mm at 2.8. I will be checking it out.

I have used The Lens Depot and Borrow Lenses to rent -- both excellent customer service - The Lens Depot a tad less expensive. I also like with them that you pay for the shipping both ways up front, so just need to drop off the return package and it's already paid for. www.TheLensDepot.com

In our area we have a professional camera shop, Arlington Camera, that rents camera equipment to professionals and amateurs alike. I recently rented a tripod, 910 Speedlite and stand. Chances are there is a store like this in your area. Try contacting your local camera club to find out.
