Happy Veterens Day to all as well...so glad to see so many of us made it back...I was in country 1965 and 1966, USAF MATS. All my pictures were lost in a flood...very nice to see others brought some back!

Thank You, for your response, George Suggs, and Welcome! I feel awful with you, it's sad to have no pictures. The memories still remain in your mind. I bet some brothers in your unit can send those memories to you. AP

Thanks for your service and for some interesting photo journalism of the scenes on the ground in Nam.

Thank You, for your response, Cambriaman! Ones experience is a factor of life. I learned quite a bit in life being on active duty in the service. We all have only one life to live, Do Not Wast It! Hang out with the good people and make something of your fine life. Or, hang out with the Bad Boy, and we'll read about in JAIL!

With our one life to live, lets make it with the good guys and live in Peace & Happiness! AP

Hope all you fellow veterans had a wonderful and peaceful Veterans Day. To my Vietnam comrades: Welcome Home Brothers!!
South Vietnam, 1965 and back again in 1966. Crew chief on C-130E assault airlift aircraft # 877. Cam Ranh, Tuy Hoa, Buon Ma Thuot, Nha Trang, Da Nang, etc., etc. Too many assault landings and take off's to count. Aircraft earned every dent, ding, and hole...

Your story in country is impressive! The US Army was the largest unit in Vietnam - 1 million troops, hard to imagine! You had a thought job, from what I'm reading, you did it quite well with promise to others. I take my hat off too you, I Salute You!

I have to search for more film. I never ever thought Film would be replased by Vedio, but, video is better, No Darkroom! I'm thrilled showing pictures and receiving responses. Do you cook? I have many of my dinners to show. Cooked them and photographed them.

Please keep in touch, TinWhitsel! CIAO, AP

Welcome, No Name Joe! I was on a special 100 man detachment to Okanawa, for six months. We joined the battalion the last three months in HUE. I was on a duice and a half truck with three Marines with loaded Shotguns 10g 7 rounds. We stopped on the way to main base, that's where I made photos, I only had my auto M-14 loaded!

LUCKY US, NO ATTACK! These photos were printed years later! AP

I spent my Veterans Day the way I have for the last 18 years. (Well one year I got sick the first day and went in the hospital.)
Working as a volunteer at a railway museum on a two weekend Day Out With Thomas festival. I used to operate streetcars and be conductor on the train but these days I am the announcer.

Hundreds of little kids on the museum and train at once with their family escorts. This year we had almost 17,000 in five days, our best year was 36,000 in six days. Seeing all those smiles and big eyes and hearing all the giggles and laughs reminds me why I and millions of others are veterans and helps make it worth it.
I spent my Veterans Day the way I have for the las... (show quote)

Love your fine story, Robert! Boy, to be with you and my camera, CLICK, CLICK, think I would of made some fine story photos! I'm really glad to hear your life is running well. If we only could be that young again! AP

In my mind I am that young most of the time. If my body would just cooperate!

Thank you for your service! I spent 20 years in USAF, including the entire time of the Vietnam War, but was not sent to SEA. My overseas tours were in Canada, Iran, and Germany and no one ever shot at me. I have utmost respect and admiration for those who went in harm's way.

Welcome, David in Dallas! You did well on active duty. Keep the good faith and stay in the best health. We only have one life to lived, and we're now over the hill. Eat good food relax, and be happy! May Peace & Happiness always be with you and your family at your Dinner-Table! CIAO, AP

Like your choice of pictures you uploaded. It shows a positive frame of mind.

Personally, I've chosen to keep positive images of Asia-- particularly the little children and elderly (I was all over)

I celebrate Veterans Day with a NY Strip at Gene & Georgetti's, a bottle of Chianti, and 2 Macanudo Portofino cigars, which I am preparing to leave for right now

Welcome, Craig J. Tucker! I did not have a lot of time to make photos, more instruction with this hobby would of helped me quite a bit!
It was quite an experience anyway! CIAO, AP
