I've purchased a number of lenses from them, Nikkors, Hasselblad, Bronica, large format, etc. They use a very conservative rating system, and their "BGN" rating is very good. They're honest in their descriptions, and I've yet to need to return anything I've bought from them. They ship promptly, and they've always been able to answer any questions I've had.

I found a Bronica SQ 50mm rated as "BGN", and it's as clean as a new lens, not a scratch or even a wear mark on the lens body.

I haven't paid any sales tax to them directly. With the volume they sell, I think it's only a matter of time before they start, though. B&H, Adorama, all the biggies have started, so KEH may be starting sooner, rather than later.

I never used KEH's services, but if your state is asking for sales tax, they will charge it. It's the law.

KEH is one of the best. I bought from them before the new sales tax law was passed. It looks like almost everyone will be charging tax soon, but getting a good item for a good price is more important than saving on sales tax.

Purchased and sold lenses and four cameras with KEH. Find them one of the best sites for used equipment.

Even if they don't charge sales tax, you're obligated to pay it to your state (there are only a couple states that don't charge sales [or use] tax).

Venders don’t charge sales tax. States, counties and municipalities do and venders may be obligated to collect the tax and forward that money to such governing agents. In your community - do you have roads, schools, hospitals, bridges, fire and police departments, etc.? Guess what, pal, those things cost money! Do think they just materialize out of thin air? Maybe Santa’s elves brought them? Pay your share.

But you are too cheap to pay tax on that expensive photo gear you want to buy. Give up photography and stick with your cellphone or, better yet, just crayons.

I have purchased 2 or 3 used lens products from KEH over the past 5 or so years without any problems, the last one about two years ago.
