Mirrorless is not necessarily "so much better," and I doubt you would be thrilled with one. I can't see myself ever giving up my DSLRs, although I have a Sony A6000 for when I need something small. The D750 is my go-to camera.

Some "professional" considerations -

I have 3 canon 1d series bodies and a great selection of lenses. And I am getting ready to buy the 1dx mk2. I have photographed documentaries for the Army, collegiate sports, weddings, senior portraits, high school sports pics, been published more times than I can count in newspapers, and in magazines. I don't baby my equipment, it takes a beating. Dings, rain, snow, heat, dirt, etc, It's just unavoidable. There is nothing I feel limited by with my current set up.

For you no compelling reason.
For me it is very compelling as I want to activate all my FD/FL and R lenses without having to use an adapter with glass in it. I will get the FL of the lenses as originally intended.
So for me it is a huge deal and very exciting.

Ken Rockwell answers your question: https://kenrockwell.com/tech/mirrorless-vs-dslr.htm

Yet, in plain terms from experience, you capture my view, too: "There is nothing I feel limited by with my current set up."

Besides, going a ways back, this caution applies to the rush to adopt the mirrorless mode of photography: Do not become an early adopter.

We should know from our own experience that the first iteration (or two) of a product soon enough becomes supplanted by an improved one.

Waiting has value of its own in the commercial culture.

Exactly my thought, why did I switch from a Model T Ford to a new Crown Vic. I like technology when it helps me, and I really like my Olympus EM 1 Mark ll after using a Nikon D750 for several years. If you have never owned or used one of these digital camera wonders, then you can't speak to their pros or cons. You need to get one in your hands for a couple of weeks and then you'll see what we are all so excited about. I shoot wildlife and landscape, birds in flight, and anything else that the D750 shot, battery life is not an issue and my shutter "lag" is near zero . Get your hands on a pro level mirrorless and you'll be a fan to.

For you there is no reason. For me, I wanted a smaller lighter kit with less lenses and I wanted it to do less. But when I did drag it out, on trips and cruises, I wanted a good quality of photo. So for you, don't. You are happy and until the reasons become apparent on their own, just don't do it.

Individual choice much like the evolution of TV’s, computers, etc. I just switched from Nikon to Fuji and it was a good move for me but may not be for everyone.

I don't think you need to ask the question. I think it's best not to ask. You will have the answers you expected and you don't agree and there will be a lot of arguments but it really gets no where.

Sales/tech progression gimmick.
(I'm still using my Galaxy S-III. No valid reason to change up.)

You have been successful with what you use - unless you can increase on that success - having weighed up the advantages of mirrorless - then you have no need to change. Sometimes it is better the devil you know!

I am looking for a good place to eat and everyone says you have to right now to that great
restaurant with the finger lickin' good chicken.

Can you please explain why I would be head over heels in love with that great chicken?

Because you've never eaten home cooked!

Even excluding the typing error this is just wrong. Do you think typical MP3 music is better than say CD or vinyl? Do you think digital projection in the cinema beats film, or digital film cameras beat film cameras for big budget studio releases? Do you believe what works best for you also works best for everyone else?

We have seen the same reaction with most changes in technology, for better or worse. The one technology that made the biggest difference is the internet. Back when the argument was whether or not a pro would ever use a built in meter those in Virginia didn't know how their counterparts in Iowa thought about. And frankly they didn't give a rat's ass. Now we will fight to the death, or until our wifi connection is lost, to defend our position. And not to feel left out, some will chime in to say we shouldn't be arguing at all.

Hopefully most of us see it as entertaining, informative, and a good way to kill time.

Happy Veterans Day!

I’m considering it simply because of the weight of the cameras. My age and health simply don’t allow me to lug the heavy stuff around anymore.

Because many of them are dust, rain, cold resistant. Because they’re less obtrusive and more approachable. Because the image quality is excellent. My Olympus has fabulous in-body stabilization. Because I can carry a 28-300 equivalent lens around my neck all day with no pain. I could go on!
