I see why she was satisfied. Well done.

Thanks, magnetoman. Dark Ladies are notoriously difficult to please, and poor GoGo was shaking in his shoes, seeing a long spell of green time ahead (there's nothing Dark Ladies like more than turning humans--especially astronaut/custodians and artists--into frogs! Except possibly baking naughty children...). He did his best, and lucky for him, she liked it. This time...

LOL

Thanks for the kind comments and your visit, they're very much appreciated!

When they give you that nod...you're safe...(at least for a while!!)...great work!!

Thanks, Bob. GoGo was looking at about a millennium of green time if he didn't come across with the goods. Fortunately for him, she gave him a thumbs-up. So he's safe for now, or until he gets hopelessly sloshed again on the Joy Juice and makes another pass at her.

Thanks for the positive comments and your visit, always enjoyed and appreciated!

Great story, wonderful work!

Thanks Bear. Glad you enjoyed this bit of fun. I do try to keep things on the lighter side here with our Ministry of Mayhem adventures, lol. Thanks for your very kind comments and visit, they're very much appreciated!

Dramatic, eye-catching portrait, Randy.

Thanks, Linda. These are great fun, altho they can literally take hours and many iterations to do. Glad you enjoyed this one. Kind of Halloweenie, but we're close enough it still counts, lol.

Thanks for your very kind words and visit, I'm always most grateful!

He worked feverishly to finish the project, neither sleeping nor eating, and interrupting his efforts only long enough to run downstairs and pester me for more Joy Juice (as the Ministry's astronaut/custodian, I have the keys to Martian's liquor cabinet...). Knowing the strain he was under, I couldn't say no.

At last the job was done, and an exhausted GoGo called Dark Lady Kimberly up to his studio. She stared at the portrait expressionless for many minutes, then finally turned to him. She nodded once, and left.

You may not know that Statin drugs (usually used to treat high cholesterol) have a side effect of neutralizing the effect of plutonium joy juice. Only problem is that this may lead to the implant of a pacemaker It's an arcane way of treating joy juice over dosage. Another problem with Statin drugs is that it disables the ability to produce wonderful portraits So it is a problem that you may have to live with. So maybe you should consult the IAJJC. (International Association of Joy Juice Control) as they are the authority on the subject

If I had 1/10th of your PP skills, I would be thrilled. Since I began snapping a shutter back in the Minolta SRT-101 days, I have learned about most aspects of lighting, composition, DOF, etc. But, I am essentially clueless when it comes to making something as beautiful as your photo. I have dabbled with paint.net, and improved some photos, but vignetting, how to extract an image without the background, layering, and what we used to call dodging and burning are way beyond me using software. So, I greatly appreciate what you have often shown us for your skill as a photographer and, in the end, artist. As far as your story telling...oh well, nobody is perfect.

Thanks, Bob. I checked with the IAJJC as you advised, and in fact found that if one is pickled in Joy Juice, there is no need whatsoever for statins or any other medication! Turns out that even if the Joy Juice imbiber is deathly ill, he (or she) DOES NOT CARE! And simply goes on about one's business. Pretty good stuff. I'm told it's the plutonium fraction that gives the Joy Juice its health benefits, but FDA studies have not been completed, and there may be more than the plutonium responsible. The Martian keeps his recipe a secret (I suspect it's derived from his plutonium fertilizer, and may, in fact, be the same stuff!) But as long as its efficacious, no one around here much cares. And as you say, it saves on those large statin medication bills, to the annoyance and displeasure of Big Pharma.

Practically every day the Martian gets a query from one or the other of them about selling his formula, but the contract they offer is small potatoes, while he's holding out for somewhere around More Money than God. So they're a ways apart yet.

Thanks for the laugh and your visit, always enjoy and appreciate them!

Lol, thanks again, Jeff. I took on doing all this just to have more fun with my photography, learned Photoshop (well, still learning--does it ever end?) and just took it a slow step at a time. It's really not very hard as long as you don't look at it as work or try to learn it all in a day. With all the plug-in apps available now, a lot of it is automated, so even if you don't know the basic skills in Photoshop, you can still get a pretty good rendition of whatever you want. I do use a lot of Topaz plug-ins, along with some HDR and a few other things. Aquarella does some fun things with paint, and there are many free apps and programs that allow you to get as crazy as you could wish.

Always helps to start these with a pretty lady!

The storytelling goes on unabated, good or bad, lol. Been doing them here maybe four years or so now, and as it's basically a long-term continued adventure, I don't bother to give much background anymore, as it's largely the same UHH folks who read these, and they're familiar enough with the characters and always-ridiculous story line.

But they're always done to make people laugh, lighten things up here a bit, in an otherwise serious photography forum. I have fun with both the photos and the stories, and happy if people can enjoy one or both.

Thanks again for your comments, and if you'd like a little help learning to process, shoot me a PM and I'll be more than happy to offer what help I can!

Hauntingly beautiful Randy. GoGo can breath a sigh of relief for now, but once he hits the Joy Juice and upsets a Dark Lady again....back to the easel! Or has he learned his lesson? Excellent portrait work.

Thanks, Sylvia. GoGo is the only one around here with more green time than I have! And that’s only because he keeps making passes at the Dark Ladies when he gets a snootful of Joy Juice.

They’re really not all that tolerant, you know. And he’ll never learn. ; )

Thanks for your very kind comments and visit, they’re always greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Greg. GoGo is amazing, and all it takes is a little (okay, more accurately, a lot of) Joy Juice! LOL

Thanks for the kind comments and your visit, always very much appreciate them!
