Noise Reduction ON/OFF

If you have Mr on taking long exposure pictures 1 sec to several minutes the camera will take the same amount of time or more to process .

Don't want to use it for star trail shots!

And in movies, they make the sound even louder, just in case you tell that the guy's taking a picture. :D

I'm really curious - how does noise reduction help avoid any form of damage that may be caused by dropping a lens or camera?

When that salesman worked for a tire company, he always told customers to make sure the front wheels were pointed straight ahead when they parked. That would avoid having the tires wear out prematurely. When he worked in a hardware store, he told customers to have their screwdrivers point north so they would keep a good edge. :D :D
