I came across this covered bridge between the Blue Ridge Parkway and Martinsville, VA a couple of years ago. The shots were not the best, but I love covered bridges and the first hangs on one of my walls. Shortly after taking them, this bridge which was still used to access a church on the other side of the river, was washed away in a fall storm. My wife grew up in Martinsville and I thought I would have time to visit the site again ...but such is life.

I think the shots are very good. They might take a little more POP...but not much or you would lose shadow detail. It's nice that you got these pictures before the storm took away the bridge. Did they ever rebuild it...something?

Nice shots, covered bridges have always been a draw to me! Would love some day to take a north east cycle trip just to see how many I could see and document.
