Headed down stairs to photo room to fire up the old 2000p. Anyone out there still using one of these? I haven't printed for about 5 years but always loved the results. If anyone is using the same, any idea on cost per print etc? Used to do a lot of pics and printed a lot, even sold quite a few, but am just getting started again. Thanks for any input.

Sotty, I do not know that printer, but I too use an old printer, the Epson 3880pro, I've been using it for 10 years and still happy with the results. On occasion, I use an Epson 1440, which is over 20 years old and still kicking!

I'd expect 5 years of no use would create unfixable ink clogs.
Good luck, and let us know what happens.

Site for Red River Inkjet Paper used to have info on costs per print. Don't know if they list your specific printer.

It's still my go-to printer if I want something of good quality. I have no idea of the cost per print, however.

I had it for 20 years. Using Epson fine art papers and printing ca. 12.5 x 15.5, the cost was around $5.00 per print.

Thanks for you comments, I just got back from a grandkids weekend. I went down and ran the cleaning process 3 times and it didn't work. Just so happen I still have the books for the printer and it said to wait overnight and clean again. Next day I ran the cleaning 2 more times and it prints just like the old days. Windshop and artbob are you using an aftermarket ink or still using the epsons? I guess I better check and see if I can still get the epsons and that great premium luster paper I always used. The quality of the prints from this machine is beautiful. I remember a shop I used to have prints made and this was the printer they used.

I just replaced the 2000P last year, and was still ordering the Epson ink. Never used after market. Once got the heads to printing after they had dried out, using alcohol drops, letting it sit in the cartridges for an hour or so.

Lots of ink here. Even if it's expired it's still good if it's sealed.
