Sony 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 FE OSS for Sony 6000

I have a Sony 6000 that I like very much. My lenses are the two kit ones, 16-50 and the 55-100. I also have the Sigma 60mm Art lens that I use for portraits of grand daughter.
Most of my photography with this camera is walk around, public places.
If and when I move up with the mirrorless camera, I'll look at full frame. So I am thinking as I purchase new lenses I should buy full frame ones.

The Sony 28-70mm FE is one I am considering. It is an emount that will fit the 6000, and I know that my images will be cropped.
Has anybody used this lens?
And have others used full frame lenses on apsc cameras and what experiences have you had?
Thanks

I own both A6500 and A7III cameras and have or have owned many lenses, both full frame and cropped. The 28-70mm FE is a quite mediocre performer..not bad but it's main plus is its cost as compared to the Zeiss 24-70 F4 (which is sharper and faster). I have used, on occasion, full frame lenses on a cropped sensor body and in fact many sports and wildlife photographers do this to get the more limited field of view. These lenses work fine, they are just more expensive, larger, and heavier than their cropped frame counterparts.

If I were you, I would seriously consider buying the new E mount 18-135 zoom. It is very light and performs exceptionally well and is a significant upgrade over your current lenses. If you were to purchase the 28-70 I think you might find the 28mm wide angle end (at only approximately 40mm) limiting.

Jim, I have the two kit lenses for my a6000, as well (SELP1650 & SEL55210/B).

Shortly after purchasing the a6000 in 2014, I looked at the Sony SEL1670Z Vario-Tessar T E 16-70mm F4 ZA OSS, but I went with the Sony 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 FE OSS for 20% of the $1100 price on the "Zony" 16-70Z, because of several negative reviews on that (SEL1670Z) lens, at that time ~ and, because of several positive reviews of the FE 28-70mm/a6000 combo, such as this one:

The smaller kit zoom (SELP1650) went back in the original carton, and the 28-70mm f/3.5-56 became my preferred travel zoom, from then on (+ the 55-210mm kit zoom). I use primes whenever I want a "wide angle", low-light, or portrait lens.

The current dpreview gives great marks for the Sony E-mount 18 - 135 mm lens. The issue has a sumnary of recommended lenses.

I have the Sony 24-240, which is a full-frame lense. It is my walk around lense, though a bit heavy for the light A6000. With the crop factor and Clearimage zoom capabilities of the camera, I can get well over 600 focal length. When I need a wider angle shot, I just put it in pano mode and use portrait direction. It really does everything I need and is quite sharp. About $800, I think.

I and many others here use FF lenses on crop cameras to good effect. I use the incredible Canon 100-400mm on a 7D. Many here use FF lenses on their Crop Nikon D500 especially for the extra apparent reach. No worry there at all as long as the lens is compatible with the camera.
