GOP retain Senate, so the potential impeachment grandstanding is a token gesture at best, a total loser in 2020 more likely, judicial nominees may be more conservative than before because a couple of defectors won't matter (Can you say Coney-Barret?) , all radical legislation from the left is still a no-go, and there is essentially no way to undo any of the policy that has jump-started the economy and no way to force-feed a reboot of Obamacare's mandates. All in all, the effect of a split Congress is a stalemate in law making, but still a GOP juggernaut in appointment confirmations, and 'treaties'.

LOL... I seriously doubt that they can force him to produce his tax returns. Republicans gain 4 to 6 seats in the Senate while the dems pick up about 1/2 as many seats in the House as Obama lost in his first midterm.

I certainly don't think it is in the nation's best interest to have Maxine Waters in charge of the Finance Committee or Shifty Schiff in charge of the Intelligence Committee as that in and by itself is an oxymoron, but the Dems are nuts and they will do what they do.

We will see what that looks like, if it looks anything like the Kavanaugh hearings which it probably will because the dems can't seem to control themselves in regard to anything Trump, the dems may be in for a really tough 2020.

What I don't look forward to is a completely stagnant government, the dems will insure that. At least we added to the Senate so that if the day comes that Ginsburg has to step down we won't have to rely on the likes of Murkowski or Collins to confirm the next Justice to the SCOTUS. Although, Collins did make republicans proud with her thoughtful assessment of the Kavanaugh episode.

Well, one thing we can be sure of is 2 years of dimocrap int***sigence and stonewalling. That said they have the opportunity to demonstrate action to work across the aisle to actually get some legislation passed but my guess is they will squander that wasting time trying to go after President Trump. This will demonstrate that they clearly could care less about the country. I hope I'm wrong.
