I've read and re-read your description on dynamic tension, and understand the basic concept is that
the line lead you to the edges of the image, but couldn't an argument (I prefer "discussion") be made
that those same lines lead into your original object?

I know, I've been accused of being "anal" ...LOL

1st photo works because the hand-holds lead you away from the center in opposite directions. The Donkey photo, your eyes follow the direction of the animal whether they're running or looking in a direction, which is why we give them "room to run". The donkeys are looking in opposite directions. 2nd photo is the big difference between the very white side to to dark side. Again contrast in opposite directions. Look at a complementary color wheel lots of tension between Black to White, Red to Green or Blue to yellow. 3rd photo is leading lines to the sun. Although a very good photo, not a lot of dynamic tension.
Here's an article that explains it better them ME.

Another nice challenge Judy.
I'm trying to wrap my brain around Dynamic Tension? Am I on the right track? What's your honest opinion?

Being self taught, as I am, I never learned about some of these things, so great challenge for teaching! I might get what you are saying...........let me know if I am on the right track.

Interesting lines...Nice examples,ID.

Here's a little more help from the article

1 Multiple diagonal lines moving away from each other in different directions.

2 Paths that move in opposing direction.

3 Body language that contrasts between 2 or more subjects.

opposing direction 2 subjects
opposing direction 2 subjects...

Looking good, Michael!

"The simplest and most obvious photo that I have to demonstrate dynamic tension is the one below – the lines move out from the center of the photo to the edges".taken from the subject article..

OK, I know I can be a little "dense" sometimes, but I really am
trying to learn, grow and understand...

Would any of these be considered examples of "Dynamic Tension?"
