Male Northern Harrier

Taken at dawn at Reyes Point National Seashore in October from the car window so as not to spook him.With a Canon 100-400 IS II lens and a 7D II. I just upgraded this setup and it's far superior to the previous models. I have never seen a male Northern Harrier before. Females are brown and much more common.

Nice picture, Point Reyes National Seashore is a beautiful place to photograph.

Yes, so true. I don't know why the males are so far and few between. We call the male Norther Harrier " the Gray Ghost " because they are so rare.

Drake bay is a good place too take pictures of water birds and hawks.

The male "Grey Ghost" is quite scarce and elusive ! NICE work ! .......thanks for sharing

That out of focus green object on the right is very distracting as the eye almost goes right to it. I would remove it. Great shot of the bird.
