The horses in both seem to be exactly identical. How did you get the sun in two positions - Photoshop?

Neither, they are both seriously over saturated.
And it looks like you over dosed on the noise reduction.
Its kind of a rookie mistake, I did the very same things at first.
Unless you are going for some kind of special effects,
The more natural you can make your shot look, the better it will be.

I like the saturation in number one. I would also give the sun more room on the right side as it appears to be leaving the frame.

Number 2, your sky in #1 is over saturated and
I can see banding.

Good catch, the shot was taken midday and the sun is lower in the sky.
