I prefer #1. The multi angled fence makes it interesting and the diagonal rows in the field ask the eye to follow up to the line of trees that breakup the horizon line. A great sky, but not too much of it, holds the eye in the image. The use of a high contrast B&W adds a lot of excitement. An excellent image.
1 is very well done I like the fence in the foreground plus you get the feeling those hay bails are on the move.
1. I don't like the vignetting of the second. The first draws my eye across the entire image and pulls the viewer in to the scene vs tunnel vision, so to speak.
I like the detail of the first one. Both photos are great.
I feel the fence being so close to the front of the picture creates a psychological block to the rest of the picture.
