Thanks. I used my Sony a580 dslr with a Sony 75-300mm zoomed attached from 8 - 10ft. away.

All shot hand held through a window in aperture mode at F5.6, ISO 400. The shutter speeds varied between 1/500 sec to 1/200 sec.

All photos were enlarged a little and cropped. No other pp was done.

Don't you just love these little birds? I like the last one best. I just posted a couple of my hummingbirds. Mine fight all the time. I have been using ISO 800 and am finding that it makes mine look too pixelized, but it does stop the motion when used with flash. I'm really looking and practicing to find the best settings to capture these cute birds. Thanks for positing your birds, I love it. Cheryl

Gee, Cheryl. I wouldn't think you need such a high ISO if you are using a flash. My camera only has a sync speed of 1/160 sec and I can catch those feathers at a dead stop at much lower ISO's than that. Ya' never know.

I love these picks, thanks for posting what you used. We have a feeder and get alot of hummingbirds, now I can't wait to try and capture a few with the camera.
