I recently bought a Nikon D5600 and am looking for book recommendations for it. How about David Busch's Nikon D5600 Guide to Digital SLR Photography? Or Nikon D5600 For Dummies? Or are there better choices?

Thanks.

I have had several of Busch's books over the years and have found them invaluable. Good luck.

I would go with David Busch's Guide.

Have a couple of David Busch's Guides and they are very good. He mixes camera body instruction manual along with a photography tutorial / tips guide. Easy to read, very informative.

Years ago I bought a David Busch book for my Olympus camera. I would never recommend him. I found mistakes and important information left out. He also spent a good part of the book on post processing. My impression is that that he turns these books out without hardly using the camera. Look for other authors.

I would look at Creative Live these are on line classes that when you buy you keep forever. They have fast start classes for most cameras. I bought them for my Fuji and Olympus camera and really like them. The instructor is excellent.
Look at creative live.com.

Good video, although it might not cover the D5600 specifically.

What is the difference between Busch's book and the Dummies?? What do you think is left out?? What would other options offer??

I’ve always used the Busch books for my Nikons. Thorough and clear

This is not a book, but Tony and Chelsea Northrup have a video on setting up and using the Nikon D5600:

I find their videos useful and they are free. But I also have many Creative Live classes and they are excellent as well.

I would go with Busch. I was going to recommend Darrell Young since I have his book for the 7200 and learned a lot from it. But I looked it up and I don't think he wrote one for the D5600. I do have a David Busch book, also, and have been happy with it. Have fun with your new camera!

Where could I find a used book on the D7200 by Bush at a reasonable price? Or possibly a new one. Thanks.

Amazon has the Busch D7200 for $15. Their list price is $39 so it seems like a good deal. Ebay also has it. There are 2 versions. The one I have is the "compact" version so it's good for putting in your camera bag. But if you want the full version, make sure that's the one you choose.

Amazon has the Busch 5600 book for $23. And that's a better price than eBay, as far as I could see.

Hope this helps.

One book I think every fledgling photographer should own is “Understanding Exposure “ by
Brian Peterson.
