I have a four year old Canon printer the Pixma Pro 10. It's a great printer but it had been idle for months and when I fired it up yesterday it had issues. I couldn't find ICC profiles and the printing colors were all wrong. I called Canon and a woman named Laurie was awesome. She was patient, very knowledgeable, and she guided me through downloading the most recent drivers. I had to uninstall and re-install my Pro 10 on my mac. Later that day I had to call Canon back and Tony was my contact. He was very helpful also.
Lots of posts have legitimate complaints, I wanted to shout out for Canon as being extremely helpful-my printer is now humming like it did when I first bought it. Nice to deal with a company with awesome customer service.
No one seemed to respond to you, I guess it's because all us Canon users are use to the great people at Canon. And the non Canon people don't read the Canon stuff like I don't read the Nikon stuff.
I had somewhat the same issues and they solved my problems also with unlimited patience. Great customer service!

I have found similar support from Canon. Thanks for posting a positive experience. We hear enough from negative ones.

Actually, I read everything. And regularly respond.
I would have done a head clean and realignment routine also.
Understand ICC profiles and how to use them with your printer - Windows
Solution
Understand Canon ICC color profile files
ICC profiles for Canon paper are installed when you install the printer driver. The profiles are specific to images created in the Adobe RGB color space (not sRGB), Canon paper, and Canon ink.
You can view the profiles with Adobe Photoshop or any application that supports ICC color profiles.
You can also perform a file search for the profile and right-click, select Properties -> Profile Information. The profile information format lists the name of the printer, the Custom Quality setting in the driver (designated by a single digit number) and the paper type (designated by two alpha characters)
