Loaded up the feeders and they came. Selected a few shots to process first.

I love the cooler weather...few if any insects... birds are hungry...no pests...the blind is comfortable...life is good.

i haven't seen you post a Hairy Woodpecker before. I have had one visiting my feeding station for the past few days. It is a female also and I haven't seen the male. Although a lot of people don't like the Starlings, I think they are beautiful birds, albeit pests. Another nice series Joe.

The Hairy is extremely shy so I don't get to shoot them often. This female most likely is young and hungry.

Such a great series. I echo Charlie157; love the first image, especially the play of light on the woodpecker's head.

Joe, a fantastic set and I agree with you as far as this colder weather has made a large difference in the bird activity.

Joe, even by your high standards the Starling is a terrific shot. When I DD the shot, the tiny detail and colors are remarkable. Truly a high quality shot. Shots like this make me appreciate the "less desirable" birds like Starlings.
