Jim, I hope I didn't offend you with my "joke." I understand about taking what we can get as I photographed a distant eagle nest for four summers with a $375 bridge camera. I'm really glad Jim-Pops was able to help.

One online resource you might look into is lynda.com. Check with your local library to see if you can gain free access through your country library system's e-resources programs. It is available in my county, and what I've viewed on lynda.com have been impressive, well produced tutorials. I especially like that most subjects are broken into short chapters, easily accessed again for review.

Not even a little bit was I offended. I only got one good, in focus shot of this bird and I could not "crop out" the blown out areas so truly was very aware of the shortcomings of the shot.
I appreciate the time you must spend "administrating" this section of UHH. I admire your sense of composition; most of the time I agree with your thoughts.

Thank you for the compliments, Jim. Though I appear to camp out in FYC 24/7, I can happily report that I have nothing to do with managing it

.....When you have fully blown out areas as this picture had you can't do much except clone and color with your brush......

Agreed (except for the spelling of colour haha).
