I'm sure all of you are also.

Today's science "fact" is sometimes tomorrows science fail.

Disagree my friend. Facts remain facts. Predictions, based on facts or otherwise, can often fail.

Climate change is not a hoax because its been happening for millions of years. The debate is whether it is being caused by human activity or not.

I agree with that...facts remain facts.

The problem comes when the latest "idea" is touted as "fact" like "Global Warming" that morphed into "Man-Made-Climate-Change" which isn't anything like a fact.

I'm cool with someone saying "well...the climate does what it does" which is a fact...or "for the last 150 years we've been recording the temperature, it's climbed 1/2 of a degree overall" which (if it were true) would also be a fact.

It's the speculation about WHY and HOW it's happening that aren't "facts" that I'm talking about. Science deals with more than facts, it deals with conclusions based on facts and conclusions can certainly be in error.

Agreed. Only a fool would say that our Climate is NOT changing....as it has since the Earth was formed. Remember studying about the "ice ages?" There are a myriad of factors (forces) that affect our climate: closeness of Earth to the Sun; Earth's orbit; Solar winds/storms; natural events (volcanos, large-scale forest fires, deforestation, etc)....and to a limited extent...the efforts of mankind. Problem is, the effect of mankind on our climate, is infinitesimally small compared to the effect of the other natural factors. So, trying to control (legislate) human behavior will have very little if any impact on the changing climate.

Because this has become an economic/political issue, "scientists" have not been free to explore the data and form valid conclusions. The few tidbits that have been conveniently cherry-picked to support one political opinion or another, likely do not truly reflect what is happening and certainly not the causes.

It is long past time to keep politics/economics out of the debate....and allow science to do what science does best.

We are goig to see rapiddecline /changes in the Pacific due to continued dumping of radioactive water from Fukashima also but they will blame it on climate change

So can politicians who base their conclusions on business and financial issue, lobbyists, and NO scientific understanding of what might be going on..
I don't understand the resistance to taking care of our planet. when you go out to your favorite spot to do some serious photography wold you prefer to find a nice pristine environment with clear water, beutiful birds and animals, clean grounds... or do you like trash blowing around , sick and dead animals, polluted water with trash floating around in it?
All that's being said here is clean up our environment.. just what is wrong with that?

Nothing at all. I'm a big proponent of not leaving trash behind and taking care of our planet.

If that's all that was said, that would be great...but that's not all that's being said is it?

Just stating that anyone who disagrees with a certain opinion on the subject is in permanent denial is ridiculous; many scientists are in disagreement with the idea. (not just a few 10's of thousands have.)

Here are 5 reasons why it's bunk.

I'm assuming that if you had real bad chest pains and shortness of breath or started bleeding from your mouth or rear end .. you'd do nothing because people have done that before and you don't want to believe the "scientist's" (Doctor's) conclusion you might be progressing towards a TERMINAL event ... and , god forbid, the cost. What if it was your wife, child, or grandchild? Call your favorite politician or and he'll tell you everything's going great ... for him.

What insult? I just asked you a reasonable question... Would you allow the event to continue or would you believe the "Scientist" (Doctor) and allow him to save your life... a simple yess or no is all I'm asking for. No insult interned; however if you say you won't believe the "scientist" Doctor .........

Would you believe your Doctor? Who has the most to gain fromno telling the truth here? The Scientist (who owns no businesses , coal mines, oil well, etc) and oly pull down a salary if you believe them or not,,, Or the politicians and big business who do have all kinds of investments in just what might be destroying our planet... Use your head, think for yourself.. who has the vested interest?

They can be quite accurate as well ... Remember the "Scientist" who told the Politically based manager NOT TO LAUNCH The Challenger?

How do you enplane Astronomers? Pure Science..

Totally agree. And, YES, it is sad. There was a time when the processes of science were purely defined and practiced. In today's world, $$$ can and does tend to throw some bias into the equation. Think $$$ that force development of pharmaceuticals, research grants to support/sway opinion, government/political support of researchers, etc. Doing 'good science' for the sake of science, is not nearly as attractive as doing science for $$$.
