The Gahn.

We have an occasional series over here that comes under the umbrella title of SLOW TELEVISION. SLOW TELEVISION is TV without commentary but occasional captions posted on screen and so far we have enjoyed the U.K.'s most popular bus route across the Yorkshire Dales, and a Narrowboat journey along the Kennett and Avon Canal.
And the most recent is on board Australia's GAHN train which runs for 3000km / 1900 miles, South to North, from Adelaide to Darwin. I find these programmes very therapeutic just listening to the mechanicals, the chug chug of the narrow boat, or the muted hum of a powerful diesel (2x 4000hp). It's 3hrs. long so download it and watch it when time permits or needs must.
I'm not to sure it'd go down so well in the States as I recall a time when NBC (I think) picked up on a Dan Maskell Wimbledon commentary in which the players spoke with action and Dan said very little - and not having every blade of grass described to them did not auger well with many U.S. viewers.
I just thought it might be worth bringing to fans attention. A link below, which may not work in the U.S., but at least you'll be able to look out for it if forewarned (and interested).

I have seen programming about the GAHN in the past.
Tried to the link and it didn't work for me. Message said it was only available in UK. Had to with rights.
I hope someone can come up with a work around.

A FB friend living in Brierley Hill bought a narrow boat a couple years ago and posts photos taken along the way on trips occasionally. Looks very interesting and something I want to do one of these days. He has invited me several times and each time it is more difficult to resist.
Hearing the sounds would most likely push me over the top. Wish the link would play here in Texas!
Use a VPN program/app and use a VPN server located in the UK. The web site will then think you are located in the UK and will allow you to view the video
Looks like it should be the "GHAN", not the Gahn.
If you're not in the UK there are plenty of videos of the train on Youtube.

I stand corrected. it is indeed the GHAN. And there is plenty on You tube.
But this is a different form of TV, very relaxing, that I thought may also interest hoggers with a distinct interest in the current offering.

That may be but it appears only people in the UK will have the benefit of seeing this video.
Check the disclaimer above the title line. This is what we get.

A VPN signed in to a UK server will (generally) allow you to view such UK limited videos. I did have to register, and I did use the location as the USA in the registration process, but the system didn't seem to care and played the video for me.
