There was a largish 2 story single family home in a residential neighborhood.
Some time ago, it was illegally converted to an upstairs/ downstairs duplex.
Later, each was then converted to jack/ jill apartments. The 2 car garage was also converted.
New owners/ managers try to get a safety inspection for insurance purposes. Got wrote up.
Got a lawyer to fight retroactive punishment. They have 120 days to bring it up to code. NOW!
Everybody gets a hotel for 5 paid days: "tenting". Changed the locks. Possessions in storage.
Walls: knocked down. Plumbing and electrics: redid. City wants a fast show of progress.
SIX F'N ILLEGAL families are suing the new owners and the city- they want new free digs.
The owner is covered- he has a legal writ *ordering* him to do this work.
The city is covered- the last owner specifically told them this is bootleg- no renter's credit!
But there's lawyers- this evil gentrification must be stopped! *sigh* And so it goes.

Germany: In order to have a sk**led orderly immigration, they have made it easy for sk**led workers to immigrate there and employers to employ them. YOU DON'T GET TO DEMAND ENTRANCE AND STAY AS LONG AS YOU LIKE. Germany DEPORTED 9000 immigrants in 2018
Ireland: 18K immigrants in 2018 while 21K immigrants departed for the UK
We are being invaded by over 100K per month and democrat i***ts think we need more. Other countries do not tolerate invasion, come legally or don't come.

I was referring to the quotas the US has on these countries.
Allegedly, no one country may legally have more than 7% of the total allowed by the USCIS.
This is to keep our diversity ... well ... diverse.

Maybe the US should rethink it's foreign policy WRT Central and South America.
