The freezing cold highlight of my week was watching my grandson at his final cross country meet. He had never run X-C till this year (he says he's learned a lot by watching YouTube videos on the subject!). He is 13 and ended up top X-C Boys' Runner in his class.

Yep, he's running happy. Well done -- you and him.

My wife and I took two of our granddaughters up to
Gettysburg College today to play on their rock walls.

They had a blast, but Sally and I were both nervous
wrecks...couldn't tell you how many times I put down
the camera...just in case...LOL

We "got out of Dodge" for a short break this week. It was supposed to have been from Thursday until Monday or Tuesday of next week but we cut it short and came home yesterday because of the cold, wet weather. Here are some shots from Thursday's visit to Glad Mill State Park, PA.

You did very will before you bailed out. Very nice scenes.

Here are some views of the Athenaeum Hotel at Chautauqua - I didn't get a good shot of the front of it, these are of the side facing the lake.

Wish I could hold a camera as still as you do.

I'm more of a photojournalist/event/portrait person so this one will be a little different. The gentleman in the picture was named Bill. I had become a photographer for a very large church (10,000 members, 5 locations, broadcasting in 4k etc). Quite an operation and it's where I really fine tuned low light photography. In any event, I ended up spending 2 years at the Hispanic Group, located in a small building without any of the high tech stuff. Bill was living in a trailer in Southern Georgia ie gators, snakes, bugs, heat beyond anything I ever felt in PA. He was very ill and had just lost part of a leg. Even though he spoke no Spanish, and only a small portion of the group spoke English, they made a visit to him, cleaned his trailer, cut his hair etc etc. Basically, took care of Bill. In lieu of some of the hatred that is being spewed in politics these days, I thought I would mention that there is still a lot of good in the USA. Bill died this year but capturing his image and his ability to be humble, thankful and still garner a smile was pretty impressive.

It is free Saturday again folks and I hope to see what you are willing to share with us all as you get ready for next weeks challenges. I may be gone most of tomorrow but will be lurking on my phone. Come on by with any and all you have to share, it's free, still no charge.

I had a great time Friday with a familiar face here on the Ugly Hedge Hog Challenge thread. Dane and his family are here in San Antonio house setting for a week or so and we were able to get together. It was great to meet and greet another Hogger face to face. We went out Friday morning to a couple of the Spanish Missions on the Mission Trail here is San Antonio.
