My wife and I have iMac computers and both of us are using LR 6 which we installed on both machines. I am considering an upgrade to LR CC and want to know if I need two subscriptions or if we can share. Of course we each have our own catalogues and image storage. I know that some will recommend contacting Adobe, but I likely need a “work around” rather than their (expensive) response. Many thanks. Jerry

Yes, LR CC Classic can be installed on two Computers at once. Actually, more than that, but only two can be active at any one time. However, I think you can only use one device at a time. Not sure about that, but think that is correct. If so, you'd have to take turns.

My understanding is that you can install on any number, but can use the software on only two units at the same time. So, you should be good with a single subscription. You and your wife will need to share the credentials for the Adobe account.

You can use 2 active computers/Adobe Cloud at any given time.. However you can have it on unlimited computers as long as only 2 are active at a time. I have it on 3 desktops and 5 laptops at any given time.

You can install it on two computers, and both can be activated at the same time.

Bill you are out of date! It used to be that way, especially with the perpetual model. With Lightroom Classic CC the others are correct. Adobe assumes most computers are connected to the internet and that enables monitoring the serial number and, more important, easy switching from active to inactive.

It is still true that, in the Adobe agreement, you promise to be the only user of the software on your computers. Think like a traveler with a laptop returning home to transfer the trips photos to the "master" computer.

So "technically" sharing "your" license with your wife, best buddy or granddaughter would be against the agreement. But, it works. If you have it open on two computers and your wife tries to use her's, she is supposed to be blocked. If you log out of one of yours, she will to be able to log into "your" software on her computer.

Man, you’re quick! I corrected my post about 30 seconds after I hit send. Yeah, I know that. I have it active on two Macs all the time. My coffee hadn’t kicked in.

Duplicate! You see how that lack of coffee can mess things up.

I have the Adobe Photography apps loaded on 3 computers, I can have 2 active at any moment. Download everything, but I strongly reccomend to use only Lightroom Classic CC. which will look identical to the LR you are used to, and uses local storage. Lightroom CC is not ready for prime time.

Lightroom CC is ready for prime time. It does amazing things for "mobile" types that want all of their photography efforts connected. But, you are right that it is not targeted at the traditional photographers still using a film workflow of shoot it, develop it and print it.

Although you can have this installed on multiple computers, you can only synch one catalog in creative cloud per account. I am sure that there are multiple work arounds to meet the OP's needs but I thought I would point that out.

While this is true, in addition to limitations of quantity or size in the "Cloud", I never use it. I have 20tb of images on my catalog, and the wife has a separate 8tb of images on hers.. all using the "same" Adobe Cloud id. (we use separate computers and separate storage but same "master" login to Adobe). This works fine. When we return from trips, we transfer all images taken on the trips back to the two master catalogs and continue from there. By the way.. on trips, we each have a 4tb USB3 portable drive to connect to our laptops, this makes transferring to the "main" catalogs at home easy.
