The area supports a group of animals you can see most of the year there - except during the winter months when the willows are covered with snow.
Moose was reintroduced there in the Seventies and are successfully reproducing.
The Brainard Lake area moose are a part of so called Gore Range group.
The number of animals is exceeding 200, now.
So far they have even expanded their territory South of Eisenhower tunnel.
