This flower is about 1 1/2" across. 7 petals is a little unusual. Growing in lily pond.

Stunning flower.
Kudos to Scott for identifying it: White Water Snowflake, Nymphoides indica.

Wiki says it's native to "tropical areas around the world"
and "has become a minor weed in Florida". Very pretty
for a weed! It can have 5 or more petals (as in your
7-petal specimen!). No wonder I couldn't find it.

Thanks. I've often said Houston is erroneously called semi-tropical; I say it's fully tropical. Hot and humid enough. (I have been convincingly corrected by a friend that I am/this is technically incorrect.)

I think it might look a little better if they tamp down the whites in LR to show a little more detail and clone out the distracting white spots. All in all though, a neat looking flower.....
