Thank you very much. He is handsome and I got very lucky with him hanging out for a bit, so I could record it. Gary

Great set of photo's,he looks very calm.

Thank you very much. Oddly enough, I think me being in a vehicle put him at ease. I think if I were on foot he would've bolted right away. Gary

Thank you for commenting. Most wildlife don't enjoy human company. I won't take it personally. Gary

Great images. He seems to be interested in something to His right. Could You tell if He was watching the squirrels or some of the people around there?

Thank you very much. It had to be the squirrels. They were everywhere. There are a lot of trees in the area. I was hoping a squirrel would make the mistake of going into the open part of the field. Then the coyote would have to make a run at it. Gary

Very interesting. Our coyotes out here in the west are generally shades of grey. In the 51 years I have lived in Arizona, I have never seen a tan coyote. I wonder what caused the genetic mutation?
Great pictures of an animal that really adapted well to the human presence. Thanks for posting.

He looks well fed. Must have a good hunting area, or is eating in people's back yards (pet food). Or, just maybe, eating pets.

Several years ago I watched a Natgeo special on Coyotes. Our coyotes (New England) were hunted almost to extinction. Your coyotes migrated through Canada and down through northern New England. On this migration they mated with Gray Wolves and domestic dogs. The product of that is a hybrid called Coy- Dogs and Coy- Wolves. Our coyotes are now larger than yours. This one is probably a Coy- Wolf. It has the legs and gait of a wolf. I wouldn't want to be a rabbit or squirrel anywhere near that thing. Thank you for looking and commenting. I'm really glad you liked them. Gary

He's not to close to pets but there were a boat load of squirrels in the area. I'm sure that is why he is stopping by. He's going to clean them out and move on. I just hope I can get a shot of him with one in his mouth. Gary
