I was photographing a Great Blue Heron when it decided to fly off...and to my amazement right towards me rather than away from me! That was a first for me

WOW!!! I've never seen one at that angle! Was it charging you or did it just not see you?? Recently I was kayaking, apparently near the tree where a great blue had a nest, and it got very agitated and vocal and flew overhead. Only a cell shot and nothing so elegant as yours! Timing is everything!!

I love Blue Herons! But they are big, with sharp beaks. Not sure I'd want one flying at me. But, you got some really great shots! Excellent on download! And the lighting is nice, too. Right place, right time. (and great photography skills, too!).

Thank you so much Audrey for your very kind words...they are greatly appreciated! I think it was just confused...it didnāt seem aggressive...perhaps it was just young and dumb

I love the standing shots, Jan. The āin flightā shots are certainly from a unique perspective!
