I'm thinking of buying another trail camera. I would like to have a better clarity, and hopefully videos that last a little longer. I'm happy with this one, but having 2 would be more useful. I chose this one because it has 20MP and after I got it I learned the word 'extrapolated'. 20MP can mean most anything when 'extrapolated'. It's used only to attract buyers like I was.
Any comments I would appreciate.
The two photos below you can also comment. I would say a skunk, however this area never sees skunks. Also, I never get a picture of it in the daytimes.
The bottom one is a bobcat.
I use this camera to find the animals for daytime photos.
looks more like a possum tail

The clarity of those photos leaves something to be desired. If that is the best the camera can do, then you got skunked when you bought it. Check with someone knowledgeable before buying another one.

I did some online research on this subject for the same reason. Some article (don’t remember where) said no trail camera is really more than 3mp. I find that both disappointing and questionable. I’m sure someone must make a higher resolution one for research purposes, at least. But I could not find it. Please post if you find a really good one.
I know the one my son uses takes much better pictures than those.

Just wondering what he uses. I have been thinking of purchasing a trail camera for my back yard.

Nope, a possum's tail is not furry.
Their tails are scaly and prehensile.
I've always used various Bushnell trail cameras on my property, the models with a 'black' flash. Here are a couple of shots, including a poacher with a bow. He was looking at a doe (that was there a second ago) and walked right by the camera.
I buy them used on Ebay as they sometimes disappear.
Night shots are always a compromise compared to daytime, but good enough for an ID.

He bought a new one this year. It is a Bushnell. His has the 24 MP ability. The last one was also a Bushnell.
I have two trail cams, both Bushnell. One does a much better job than the other. The better one does a great job. Buy the best Bushnell you can afford. The better one produces very good daytime photos and good IR night shots.
These were taken with a Bushnell. The camera is in the mountains, set up, so I don't have the exact model handy. It was an upper mid-priced unit. I have better night shots on the SD card in the camera.

I have been wanting to get a good trail camera also. Can you give us the model number for your Bushnell? Much appreciated.
I will have to wait until I go to our property in the mountains, probably this weekend, to check the model. We do not live there full time. My manual is there. I am rather sure it is the Bushnell Trophy Cam 16mp. I would research the reviews for the best ones. This one is about $130 or so. I bought it at Dick's Sporting goods. I bought another one that looked identical to it at Wall Mart, but was cheaper, mistake. It is not nearly as good as the first one. I keep both set up all the time, but am going to replace the cheaper one.
I have one made by Stealth Cam, model PX36NG it takes night pix with similar quality to the ones you posted and One offered by “Realtree” “pro series” model x6c. It takes pictures like the quality Muddyvalley and Les Brown posted. I don’t reccomend the Stealth Cam but do reccomend the Realtree. Both cameras were Christmas gifts so I don’t know about price or availability.
Good luck.
I don’t have any pics that I can post.
