The city of Henderson NV (10 miles from Las Vegas) developed the old toxic effluent ponds from a WW2 magnesium plant into a wild life and bird viewing area. Yesterday my daughter and son in law took me there for a little excursion so I could try out my Sony RX10IV somewhere other than sitting on my back porch. With a reservation you may be driven around the paths in a golf cart. Here are some of the various birds etc. that I saw. All are JPEGs....am just learning to shoot manual shutter and aperture with auto ISO. Thanks for looking and any comments pro or con. At age 92 l have developed a thick skin!!
They drove me here.

Nice ones. Bright, well exposed shots.
You did good. Really nice series.
Very nice images. When I see responsible reclamation of mined land, or reclamation of processing effluent....and know there was a need for the mining/processing....it makes me happy. I live in west-central Florida where phosphate is strip mined. The companies in our area do an outstanding job of restoring the habitat to better than original when they are finished. The final projects attract abundant varieties of wildlife, and are wonderful to visit.
Great spot with a lot going on ....you had a good day
Ouch! Try the Vibrance slider instead of the Saturation control.
Nice photos. Apparently turtles like to stand on rocks and swim upside down underwater.
Great set. Mahalo for sharing.
Thanks, photo artist, for your constructive criticism. I will post a few more in a couple of days and will try to improve. I learn from my mistakes. Could have done with out the “ouch” though....I really wasn’t trying to hurt anyone.

Sorry. It was a visceral reaction.
