Anybody who has driven on Hwy-395 between Mammoth Lakes and Lee Vining has seen the "Abandoned House on 395." This last trip, I took the time to pull off the road and capture some images. Some thoughtful photographer has laced the middle strand of barbed wire so you don't even have to snag yourself as you trespass.
go back and try it at night.....if you dare.would look kind of kool with some artistic use of flash.Anyway, nice shots specialy 3&4
Good captures -these are the second - and best - photos I've seen posted after my trip down 395 - I saw these buildings and put them on my "shoot next time" list , along with June Lake Loop and Lundy Lake.

Have seen this place. The drive from Bishop to Tahoe is wonderful. Did that this time last year. And hope to do it again before too long.

Looks like a desolate area. I always wonder about the abandoned houses and the people that lived in them.
Very nice, rg. Having climbed over, through, or under my share of barbed wire fences to get at similar places, I appreciate them all the more. Shots 3 & 4 take the cake.
Thanks for sharing, wonder what memories are contained within....
Tells a story. Well taken. vz

Very good series.

Enjoyed set but The last 1 I really Enjoyed
I've passed by that house two to four times a year for well over 24 years and keep telling myself that "I should stop and take a few pictures." Haven't yet, so you embarrass me with your follow through. There are a couple not unlike that on the way from I-15 all the way to Nevada on 395. As you often show us, 395 provides a wealth of great photo opportunities.
