Attched are 5 photos. First two are of an angle-winged butterfly. Looks like a dead leaf and is frequently overlooked. Ragged wing edges, feeds on sap, rotting fruit, and dung. Butterfly overwinters in knot holes and rotten logs and just MIGHT be seen on a warm winter day.
Scientific name: Polygonia interrogationis.
Common name: question mark.

Second two are of an orange sulphur and an orange sulphur albino.
Scientific name: Colias eurytheme.
Common name: orange sulphur.

Fifth is a hairstreak.
Scientific name: Strymon melinus.
Common name: gray or common hairstreak.

Thanks. It appears we have similar photo subject interests. Nice photos! Loved your farm life story re corn, etc. Brought back a lot of memories raised on a hardscrabble farm in southern Illinois!! Also spent 2 years in Chapel Hill at UNC and 4 years in Durham at Duke. Visited Raleigh a lot! Love the area!
Great chickadee shot, by the way. Difficult to get good blacks with the white!

Ottercreek, you are 100% correct on getting both white and black correct on the Chickadee. I have them a little spoiled and always try to catch them in good light, otherwise one of the colors will be off.
