Was reading a post about Ebay European sites and if they are reliable. Checked one of their prices and found a site with about the same price. Ryther Camera. All of their prices are good! http://www.rythercamera.com/catalog/ Never heard of this outfit but they have a very high re-seller rating. Anyone ever used Ryther Camera?

I have read some bad reviews on Ryther... especially their warranty... When your only option is instore repair I would be cautious, read their site very carefully as they do their best to hide their Grey Market policies.

At $889 for a new Nikon D7000, that definitely gray market. Nikon will not even talk to you about it, and that means no firmware updates. Resale could be a problem, too.

I found a couple of negative reviews also but their reseller rating is really good. Of sourse their prices are hard to beat if they are not Grey Market prices.

There are better grey market vendors is all I am saying if you have the patience to wait for a longer shipping time take a look at DigitalRev. Do a google search on Ryther Camera Reviews, don't just read the reviews on their site, or the nextag site or where ever it is that you are seeing their reviews.

I understand what you are saying. I feel the same way about most of these gray market sites. Ryther markets through Amazon. I consider that a plus. I always check Reseller ratings. Here is Rythers reseller rating site. http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Ryther_Camera. Pretty high reviews.

Well if you do purchase through them let us know how it turns out... I have never tried them but I know that their advertised prices are some of the best out there.... be careful of the upsell that seems to happen alot in the reviews that I read about grey marketers..

Good Luck, hope that everything goes well...

as for firmware updates since you do the update yourself witha card it cannot tell if the camera is grey market or not. You just download the update from the nikon site

I bought a Canon T1i from them and I have no regrets , they even followed up by calling back in about 30 days to see if I was happy.

I bought my Sigma 150-500 from them on eBay a few months ago. I had no problem registering it with Sigma so I guess it wasn't grey market.
The price was the same as other dealers but with no tax (they're in NJ, I'm in NY) and free shipping, it was the best price around.
They sent me a couple of reminders/notices to get their extended warranty but I didn't get it.
I'd buy from them again.

I have purchased from Ryther with no problem. Be careful to ask all of the important questions: Is it grey market - they offer both if you ask. Does it come with the batteries? What is the warranty? Who pays for shipping, etc. I would ask these questions of any mail order house.

Basically, it's not the seller as much as the product. Are you willing to get gray market to pay less? It's exactly the same as a U. S. product, but without the support.
