I remember an article about some guy who claimed he could detect tomatoes screaming as they were sliced.

I have read that at least some plants that have suffered damage will change their internal chemicals to deter predators. Survival of the fittest at play here.

I read something about electrical impulses changing too. Its interesting what they're finding but it won't stop me from eating plants or pulling weeds.

Just the thought that plants feel pain is enough to keep me from mowing my lawn.

I feel the same, so I have my wife mow. She doesn't mind.

Sadly, as you get older you (or at least I) lose hearing in the upper frequencies first. I haven't been able to hear the grass screaming for years, so I still have to mow.

I was slapped by a tomato once....screamed at the same time, so I believe it.

I guess instead of mowing the lawn we could turn it into a pasture so the cows could eat it. No problem then!!!
