Rumors about Sony coming out with a baby A9 are starting to surface.
It is supposed to have a 26mp BSI, APSC sensor and a center located EVF.
It supposed to be out before Christmas.
Google it for more information.

They are also claiming 20fps.
The rumors I've heard say next year.

Yea I misread the tech radar article. They said the announcement might be before Chistmas.

The rumor I heard is that Sony is buying out Canon. And I heard it on the internet so it must be true.

I hope they focus on lower noise, better focusing, global shutter and battery life. 20fps has some value in capturing the peak moment, but the down side is the time spent reviewing images. To me 10fps is already too much to review. It would also be nice if they could eliminate the mechanical shutter and have the ability to use flash.

Xmas is not in the cards, but it will be soon after that for they need to upstage Fujifilm's X-T3 if they want to maintain their dominance in all categories.

Christmas - good timing. Sony keeps introducing new models and upgrading current ones. Someone mentioned HX99 (or something like that) this morning.

All Sony cameras can use flash now with mechanical shutters FYI. The 20fps is to answer the new APS-C Fuji XT3 which can shoot at up to 30fps (in electronic shutter, with some limitations) . Mechanical shutters wont be eliminated until global shutters come out. A global electronic shutter will be able to use flash. Announcement of new A7000 (or whatever it is to be called) is pegged for around Christmas now. Expect it to be a mini-A9 as predicted. Sony needs to get back on top in APS-C mirrorless. Right now Fuji XT3 has the current A6500 beat in all areas except IBIS.

The X-T3's speed and focusing is lens dependent and 30 fps is only at a cropped mode. The eye AF is not up to Sony's standard and yes it has no IBIS which is the single most important feature when adapting non native lenses.

As a wildlife camera Nikon's D500 still rules the APS-C format although the X-T3 is inching up. No doubt the new APS-C Sony when it is announced will be aiming at theses cameras but for now its still just a rumor and the features mere speculation.

I said the Fuji XT3 30fps had limitations. The Sony A6500 is an excellent wildlife camera. I have used it extensively and love its quick autofocus, tracking and 11fps with full autofocus and full exposure control. But yes the next Sony A7000 is much more than a mere rumor as Sony execs. and SonyAlphaRumors have been leaking specs. Sony will answer the Fuji XT3 and have IBIS too, no doubt. Sony makes Fuji XT3's 26 megapixel sensor already, so Sony has a sensor ready for its A7000 (or whatever number they assign to it). Coming soon. stay tuned.

New camera's are generally not introduced on Black Friday. Usually at big camera trade shows where they can the best news coverage. And, if Sony does introduce the baby A9, it will never be reduced in price this Black Friday. Too new of a release, they will sell it at retail until initial sales slow.

I'd like to upgrade to FF, but personally, since most of my shooting is piston aerobatic and jet demo flights, I'd be happy with the more than 12 FPS I currently get with my A77. I agree with the noise too. If I get much past ISO 800 I can start to see it. I used to be on the photography team at my church, but trying to shoot anything in the sanctuary is useless and there aren't too many exterior events to catch.
