Today it was flying sandpipers and yesterday a Hudsonian Godwit. The sandpipers fly so fast it was a job to keep up with them. The Godwit's range is the middle of the country thru the prairie country and out alone the Atlantic coast. He must have taken a wrong turn to end up at the western edge of Lake Erie. The sandpipers pictured will winter in South America. Quite a long flight for such a little bird, but warblers are again smaller and fly to South America also .
Correction-These birds are NOT sandpipers, but rather nonbreeding Dunlins. Sorry for the change but I'm not good on shore birds.
Nice shots. I don't think anyone is good with shore birds. Just a bit tongue in cheek.
