L.A. Dodgers Play The Boston Red Sox In The World Series

The Boston Red Sox won 108 Regular Season Games this season. The most in franchise history. They defeated the 103 game winner Houston Astros in 5 games for the American League Pennant. Last year's World Series between the Houston Astros/ Dodgers, was one of the best series ever IMO. As a baseball fan, it will look strange to see those Dodger Powder Blue traveling uniforms in Fenway Park. Boston is about 2600 miles from Los Angeles. Two completely different cultures. But, I can't wait to see those Dodgers take on the powerful Boston Red Sox. The Cincinnati Reds played the Red Sox around 1975. A Classic World Series then. Cincinnati, (The Big Red Machine) won that series. Fenway Park is one of America's historic ballparks, along with Wrigley Field. May the best team win. Dodgers haven't won a World Series in 30 years.

It should be a good series, for sure. Since I like both teams but am really a Yankee fan, I can be satisfied with whichever team wins.

These two teams are big market teams. Red Sox/Dodgers. It was expected the Dodgers could possibly play the Yankees. The Yankees won 100 Regular Season games, and it was only good for a Wildcard qualification. The Red Sox pretty much had their way against the Yankees this year. Yankees use to cause all the misery. Not anymore.

Should be an exciting series. Babe Ruth pitched in the last Dodgers/Red Sox World Series (1916).

Hi All,
I am a NY Yankees fan and have been since 1957, when the dodgers left town!!! My grandfather used to take me to Ebbets Field when I was 6 YO, and loved the Brooklyn Dodgers, except when they left Brooklyn!!! That's when I became Yankee Fan!!!
Now, my two favorite teams are the Yankees and whoever is playing Boston!!!

Yes, I have heard many stories about the Dodgers and Ebbetts Field. I don't know the exact reason why they left. However, the Giants also moved to California via San Francisco. Willie Mays had to adjust to windy Candlestick Park. He played the outfield based on how windy it was. Thank goodness that stadium is history for baseball. Giants have a nice newer baseball stadium now.

What happened to my Tigers, o yeah they sold off most of their talent last year. A few former Tigers finally got a ring last year.

As someone who spent his "YUTE" in Ebbets Field until the turncoats forsook the B for LA I had to look for a new team to root for. In 1959 there was only one team that always had to "wait till next year". My loyalty had to switch to The Sawx. The LA Dodgers are not real Dodgers ( no B ). They are almost as bad as the Evil Empire in the Bronx. My English grandson roots for the Red Sox and anyone who beats the Yankees. I taught him well!
