In all honesty, you need to thank someone, god only builds Leicaâs
Ha, Leica was my first choice, they said choose again. Good thing, since I got interested in Astrophotography and I don't think I can afford Leica on my own. My first attempt with a 35mm 1.8dx on the D7200. I have since moved to full frame but have not had any good weather on the dark nights yet and I think the core is only visible early evening if at all after September. Not sure since most info on the topic is further north.
I don't think they would allow someone at your age near the field for liability reasons. You mentioned having a lot of experience, maybe you can offer tutoring to beginners and make some money.

I wish you luck.Extra hard work will take you a long way.Good reliable used gear will still cost close to 20 thousand. Again good luck. Happy Shooting.
330, $20K must be a scare tactic!?
A person could easily start with a pro used gear set-up for $5000 and have change left over!!!

Sorry, I was referring to the OP. I thought that was clear but I guess it wasn't.
"Quote Reply" will help with this. And you have been on this site long enough to know that.
Other issue:
I think the OP has left the thread. I had offered him a camera and lens through PM at a very low price. I would have had to be convinced he actually was in the living situation he claimed, but I did reach out. After a brief exchange the OP stopped responding.

Thank you. I always use quote reply. I did not in this particular case because I wasn't replying to a specific person. It was intended as a general observation. Clearly I should have phrased it better because it obviously caused confusion.

If you can believe what he posted in this thread, he is in assisted living, has a $50 a month stipend for the purchase of personal items, and lost his wife recently. From this I assume he's elderly and indigent and unable to live on his own, and this whole thread is just a pipe dream.
His sudden change from wanting to be a pro sports photographer to wanting to be a pro news photographer given his circumstances and experience seems to suggest that he's struggling with the reality of his situation.
