It was a dynamite day! This was taken by a friend and of course the dynamite is a wooden stick. I was a little concerned putting it in my luggage when we flew back to AZ from MA.

This reminds me of the time a few years ago when we visited the UK and bought a toy, a metal rocket at a museum in London It was about a foot long. My wife put it in her carry on luggage. It got flagged when going through the x-ray machine at the Newcastle airport. In fact, it caused quite a stir. They moved her bag to the far side of the security area and took it out. There were several people looking at it. One of them pressed a button, and the thing went into the "launch" position. They backed away and called a supervisor. He correctly identified it as a toy, and we were on our way. (Good thing it wasn't in checked in luggage. That would have caused more grief if we had to be present when they opened it.)
Anyway, we got to San Francisco and declared that we were bringing in some food. That means having all of your luggage and carry on's x-ray'd. The x-ray operator said, "Looks like you have a rocket in your bag." My wife simply said that she did. He didn't even open the bag and simply said, "Have a nice day."
