Image shift

After I shoot an image on my D7000, the image shifts in the view finder and then restores to the original view in the view finder. Sometimes, when the image shifts, the final picture is off sharpness a bit and sometimes it is sharp. Any idea what causes this? Thanks ahead of time for your time.

Sounds like VR. At the instant of exposure, VR in lens activates....then deactivates after exposure is complete. This can cause the appearance of a shift in the viewfinder image. Is it affecting your captured images?

Most of the time no but sometimes the image is a bit out of focus but, I can attribute that to my old age shake.

It does seem to be the VR setting. Thanks. I never thought about that.

Funny, but we had a similar question a couple of weeks ago. "Search" might find it - but I doubt it.
