Looks like a pretty nice old alis probably late 40's or early 50's, still has the belt pto and also I see it is early enough it still has a magneto.

Yes, I have an Allis, only a few years later with wide cultivator front end. I have an after-market front bucket on mine, otherwise it's stock and with no belt pulley.
I would agree, the WD 45 came out in the early fifties. Not many of us left the remember these old tractors and farm machinery. You have to be in the eighties to go back that far. The WD 45 had both hand and foot clutch and variable speeds and live P.T.O.

I am only in my mid sixties but am quite familiar with the wd's, old farmalls and green tractors. My fathers parents done the greatest part of their farming with 4 legged beast and had no electric so everything done was manual labor.

Yep, I'm 80, my folks lived on the farm with my g'pa, he farmed with 2 mules, my dad worked in the coal mines, he bought g'pa a John Deere A model I think, he never figured out how to use it so it sat there for years after we moved on.
A real old farmer Giles tractor looks great in black and white.
An early model Allis-Chalmers WD--I used to drive one of those when I was a kid. I wasn’t allowed to start it, though, because dad was afraid the crank would kick back and break my wrist.
That’s a nice one, Will. Thanks for posting. The photo brings back memories.

Not exactly 80’s--I’m 76 and remember those old guys well. I grew up driving them. We had, over time, a WC, a UC, a WD, a WD45, and a D17 that I still have.
Great memories there.
Any of you guys know Charles Ingles?

I'm going to have to stop looking at these old tractors photos, my memory cells and buttocks muscle memory cells can not take it!
By the way, nice photo.
Your photo is an eye catcher. Well done!
I love these old tractors. They are truly the workhorses that changed our world.
