I was shocked to see and pleased to capture this beautiful buck eye last week, on a cool but sunny afternoon. I had never seen one in the wild. I don't know if it was a straggler or not (which doesn't bode well). But it sure was a treat. Please enjoy the download which is a more realistic representation of its colors..
A very detailed and fantastic download, Einreb921!

Very fine capture and presentation Bernie.
Fabulous capture, great color and detail. Mahalo for sharing.
Super nice. Buckeye are one of my favorites.
Wow, you really nailed it. Every thing about it is perfect.
And it doesn’t hurt that it is a gorgeous butterfly.
I love everything about this image and wish I'd taken it!
Wow! I am touched and thank all of my UUH friends for the kindness and the positive reactions. This was one of those occasions where I only saw this lovely creature out of the corner of my eye, shot a bunch before it blew away and couldn’t wait to get home to see what I got. I was pleased with the SOOC shot, but DXO really brought out the magic. Thanks again, all!

I don't know my butterflys, but this is a nice capture.
I do know they can be hard to capture, flitting from flower to flower.
