Best ‘Shooter’s Gloves’ for photography

The weather where I live (western Kansas) has turned wet (sleet/snow) and cold. It’s likely to get even more so over the coming months. Regardless, I keep doing my photography (within reason). My camera (Oly M1M2) and lenses are faring well. But, my hands — not so much. I used to have a pair of ‘shooters gloves’ that would keep hands warm when not shooting, but were easy to slip a finger out of to shoot. That might not work as well for photography since one often needs to use both the trigger finger and another.
So my question is whether someone has used and can highly recommend gloves for winter photograph that both keep the hands dry/warm yet are easy and quick to use with a camera.

In the sporting goods dept I found hunter's gloves that have all fingers cut off, but with a mitten that slips over everything when you don't need your fingers They are wool and I love them. I'll see if I can find a pic online.

Like the Igloo Men's Sentry Mittens, though with mine you can expose the thumb also:

These are the best!! I have a couple of pairs, when it gets really cold I just use one of the hand warmers in the mitten part - works great!

I forgot about that; I did same a couple of winters ago (last year we didn't really have a winter, lol).

I, too, got hunter's gloves from Cabela's that are waterproof and an attached mitten slips over the fingers that are cut out.

Those are the kind of gloves I use as well. I keep them in my camera bag. Sometimes I put hand warmers in them as well.

Here's what I have. Work well, and you can pop out the thumb when needed. The flap that covers the fingers has a little magnetic attachment that keeps it folded along the back of the hand when not in use keeping the fingers warm.

I have these: Somewhat expensive, but they work great for me. Tacky surface works for a better hold on my small camera.

I've found the gloves that have mitten like coverings keep my fingers warmer than those that try to cover each finger in isolation.
In company, there is warmth.

Am actively looking at all of these — getting chilly here. Can you tell me if the Vallerrete glove runs small, or true to what you usually wear?

Can you tell me if these Vallerret gloves run small in fit, or are they the size you usually wear?

I bought a similar pair (in black) last year at Wally World and was very happy with them.

I have the XL size and they fit a little tighter than other XL gloves that I have. If this helps- I am 5' 10", 220lbs.

Thanks for the info. Valuable to me. By measurement, I should order a Large, but am concerned that would be too tight. I have what might charitably be called largish stubby hands, and gloves rarely seem to fit. I may order an ‘XL’ vs the ‘L’ the measurements suggest.

If I could ask, have you looked at or have the additional Merino liner?
