John, although I'm hampered by the use of an old laptop to view your post, the first one seems the best of the three to me.
The camera has three basic settings with which to concern yourself, ISO, Shutter Speed, and Aperture. Ideally, one should learn their camera's capabilities way prior to actually putting them to work. It takes practice and a good deal of attention to the results of that practice.
