I'm sure your mom used a wringer washer - those things outwashed all modern machines that have replaced them - I used one during the time we lived with my in-laws and still remember how efficient it was.
She did have a wringer washer, Sue...I remember it well, because even though
I was admonished to NOT play with it, I did (hey, I was a young, curious boy),
and of course got my fingers pinched...hurt like all get out, but no permanent damage...
except to my ego...LOL

Thanks for the encouragement!
Neither of us work on cars although our son-in-law is a certified (certifiable?) motor-head. Actually, as much as I like MGs, I would rather have a Mini Cooper Countryman - it's AWD.
We spent the night in Thurso, Scotland a couple years ago which was hosting an MG rally - there were MGs all over town. Here are some I shot in the hotel car park.
Oh wow, a bunch of MGAs...loved those almost as much as MG TDs and TCs...
And, not that you have to take any advice from me, but as much fun as Mini Coopers
are to drive, they are incredibly expensive to repair...just sayin'

Two leftovers...sorry they're late, but I didn't know
how to add color to a B&W, but Lesley gave me step
by step instructions, and here are the results...
PS Thank you again, Lesley!

Funny, I thought since I retired, I'd have more time online,
but the only time I have is late a night, or early morning.

I know what you mean about the expense - we were told that by an actual owner who said that purchasing an additional warranty helps a lot. We'll probably never get a Mini, but they really are a nice car.
