Yes, that is quite true... The important point of my post was the manner in which this is reported in some history books...

This is a lovely image of a beautiful sculpture. I did NOT know that. Unfortunately, there's an awful lot left out of our knowledge of true history. I feel badly for today's children who don't learn some of the important lessons from our history.
