I have recently purchased a Sony A6000 but the batteries (3 Wasabi) that came with it have such a short life and I am always worried about not having enough. Sony battery is expensive so I am wondering if anyone can suggest another brand that might have longer life than the Wasabi.
I have had good performance from the Promaster brand. They are rated at 7.2 volt, 1100 mAh / 7.92 Wh. Made in China so the price might be going tariff up.

You don't define "short life". The Sony E-mount cameras ALL suffer the poorest battery performance of any interchangable lens cameras. Its a major issue with Sony products due to very small batteries and high usage screens and EVF's. 300-400 shots per charge has been about average, however up to 600 shots per charge can be attained in many of these cameras by limiting the time the rear LCD is active and turning the camera off when not actually shooting with it.

What do you mean by "short life"? I never recommend that anyone by aftermarket batteries for anything, especially cameras. Their known to have a short life span, your better off to bite the bullet and by Sony batteries.
If 3rd party batteries came with the camera I assume you bought it used or from the gray market, etc. Therefore the batteries may be used or old. I have had good luck with Wasabi and Watson. BTW be prepared to hear 50% UHH to tell you to only use the OEM batteries and the others 50% to list a couple dozen different brands. This topic is a perpetual discussion here.
Does Lenmar make an equivalent?
I have five for my Canon. They work fine.
I have had nothing but good experiences with other brand batteries. Specifically, I have Vivitar, and CS - Power.

You bought a Sony a6000 from an authorized dealer and it came with Wasabi batteries?
Thank you. I will certainly check it out.

Thank you for your suggestion.

I bought it on Amazon from and it was supposed to be absolutely brand new. It seemed brand new and I have not had any issues other than the batteries. Tomorrow I will contact the seller (Focus Camera) and Amazon. Thanks for your reply.

For what its worth their site indicates they are a Canon and Sony authorized dealer. and Focus Camera is on Canon's Authorized Dealer list, so maybe the're not that bad.
