it should be said that all species of Datura are poisoness especially the seeds
Nice photo

I am aware of that aspect. I don’t have young children or pets in the yard and I’ve never seen a squirrel go near the plant. I probably won’t grow it another year. It was a gift from a neighbor and I didn’t know it would thrive as it has.

Most who are on this probably know, but this is a very poisonous plant, all of it, but especially the seeds. It does grow wild on our hillsides.

There are quite a number of plants that grow wild or in our gardens that are poisonous or cause reactions. Guess it is a good idea to investigate any new addition to be aware of it’s safety.

Yowza! It looks like something out of an “Alien” movie, I hope you didn’t name it Audrey II!
Btw, the pics are excellent, no surprise there! Hope to see you post again someday!!!

Besides being toxic, don't these plants have hallucinogenic qualities? At least that's what people say of the ones that grow around here, but maybe it's wishful thinking.

You have rendered the image with lots of drama, befitting the name and history, Carol.

Thank you, Bruce. If you could see the whole bush you would know it really is alien! It does have merits though. It blooms constantly and the Bush was pretty before it got so big!

They are definitely poisonous and can be lethal. From what I have read they are not hallucinogenic but are deleriant. Guess either way, it will drive you out of your mind!

Bill, I think that is a good description. Initially I was fascinated with those great big trumpet shaped flowers. I also thought the green seed pod were pretty interesting. Now I just want to reclaim that part of the yard.
