Just want to express my satisfaction with Discount Camera Repair with the restoration of my Nikon 80-200 mm f/2.8 AF-S. The lens autofocus failed. Mr. Riggins repaired the beast at a very resonable price, and kept me informed about the process. Truly excellent service.

Good to know. Where located and do they have a website?

Do a search on the forum for this repair shop. Always wise to research.
From Mr. Riggins record on this site, I'd refrain from sending anything his way. I'd consider yourself lucky.

I had a similar experience a few years ago with a Canon 18-200mm Zoom.

Thanks. Good to know. He repaired a flash for me a couple of years ago.

Took a while, but he fixed a sticky diaphragm on my 80-200 about 6 years ago.
Thanks for the good word Gary. I've actually done hundreds of repairs for members of this site over the last 8 or 9 years. I can give everyone a good price and they get a quality repair in return. There are some things that are better off repaired at the factory so its always best to check first before sending something for repair.

A lot of the "bad news" wasn't really Rick's fault. Some years ago he was seriously ill and hospitalized for a while and that caused some delays and communication issues that were discussed here on UHH. I seem to recall he also got caught up in some of the problems a few years ago when Nikon USA suddenly changed their policy and stopped selling replacement parts to independent repairers. That effected the industry as a whole. And I know he relocated his business (and self?) from Denver to Colorado Springs, CO.
There's a lot more "good news" feedback about him here on UHH, than there are reports of problems. Since people tend to complain about problems about 10X more than they praise good service, I wouldn't hesitate to send him something for repair.

I thought the main issue with him was that he was MIA for quite a while because of a serious illness. Prior to that he had a very good reputation here if I recall correctly.
